Resin a new addiction!
I need a new addiction like I need a hole in the head, like I don't already have so many things that I just love to do. Will my house ever be clean again? Lordy, Lordy!
I had purchased a resin kit from Rings and Things about 8 months ago, in hopes to give this new craze a try. Yesterday I finally set aside the time to work on this. The kit I purchased is called Easy Cast Epoxy and is so easy to use with little to no odor. I am an instant gratification person (I could never make a quilt!) and had to wait patiently for this to cure, roughly 24 hours, however I could gaze at my creations all day long. The illustrations I used in my pendants and charms are antique dictionary drawings, antique maps, sheet music, colorful illustrations and I used an old watch face too. There is a great tutorial on u-tube by John Golden that walks you through the process nicely. You may just want to give this a try!
- How 'bout we change that to "Like a hole in a bead" :) Lovely rabbitwork, Judy, thanks so much for sharing your good example of how easy it is to craft totally unique resin-ation!

I have been lurking around resin for quite a while, but afraid to take the leap! Just lie you said, another THING!! But you did a fantastic job, and you are twisting my arm...I'm off to check it out!
ReplyDeleteYour pieces are stunning Judy!
Judy, what amazing new pieces for someone brand new to resin!!! You make it look so easy...but, I've been hesitant too. I have a "date" with Jeanette soon to do a resin project together...she knows her stuff. :-) I have my eye on that sweet rabbit necklace..it is great!! I had 3 bunnies...and Babycakes lived to be 14! :-)

Very cool pieces, Judy! Must be in the air - I have a whole tray of resin pieces waiting to be finished... I could play with that stuff all the time!
ReplyDeleteWay cool! I already have enough to do, so I will live vicariously through you. : )
ReplyDeleteJudy, these are wonderful pieces. Your resin pieces are so clear. It is soooo tempting to pick up resin, but no I'm going to leave that to people like you who obviously know what they are doing.
ReplyDeleteWow, Judy! These look great! No air bubbles and nice and smooth on the top. You're a pro already. Love the pictures you chose. And the beads you used to compliment the resin pendant are perfect. Bravo!
ReplyDeleteJudy, Your wonderful pieces might just be the impetus I need to try this. I've had some epoxy here for months and have been wanting to try this. And, I have seen John Golden's youtube demo. Thanks for sharing this with all of us. The necklace you made with your lovely rabbit pendants is fabulous! Is this as easy as you make it sound?!
ReplyDeleteOh dear!
ReplyDeleteMy mum's going to yeeeeeeeell at you....hehe
I'm off to put that resin kit on my wish list ;-)
P.s. I don't think I have to tell you how much I love that necklace! Lol
