I had purchased these cool rock connectors at a bead show awhile back and have never used them. I have seen lots of other designers use them but I was unsure how they would look in my designs...I knew whatever piece I made had to be organic in nature to fit in with the rock ( I am funny about not wanting to mix certain things together). So here you have
"Russian River" a combination of lampwork, bead caps- made from copper washers (soooo easy!) Agate, wood and Australian Chrysoprase.
Wow! I think this is really special!! I love the earthy look. The washer beads caps are great and the CLASP is wonderful! Did you make the clasp too?
ReplyDeleteYes, Doreen I did make the clasp...I think it works great for this piece.
ReplyDeleteI can see how incorporating the very earthy stone connector could be a challange for your design aesthetic. But, wow, you have succeeded and it's still to me recognizably you! I adore the mix of materials and the quite subtle colour palette. Well done!!!!
ReplyDeleteI agree! Love that clasp. Very earthy and unique. I never would have tried these earthy rock pieces with lampwork but man, it really works.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great, rustic piece! I too have some of these rocks - couldn't resist them. I have not tried using them yet either...will hold on to them 'til the right time comes. Love your copper washer bead caps! You always come up with such ingenious ideas!
ReplyDeleteVery earthy and organic, Judy! And your toggle is a stroke of genius!
ReplyDeleteThe rock connectors look fab in this bracelet! The piece definately has a earthy, organic feel.
ReplyDeleteNeat! I have a bunch of river rocks from probably that same vendor that I've been hoarding! You did a FANTASTIC job!!!
ReplyDeleteLovin your hammered copper bead caps! What a perfect way to dress up wood.
ReplyDeleteI'm seriously in LOVE with those beads-Especially that rock connector!!
ReplyDeleteYet another gorgeous creation by you ^.^
