Whatchamacallit

I am not sure what to call this piece... I need a little help. I do usually like to name my pieces, I can relate to them much better than just a descriptive name. I am at a loss for this poor nameless piece.

I had this enamel bead  from Barbara Lewis sitting in one of my many pottery bowls for awhile, it was just patiently waiting its turn to be used...and then I came across this multi colored vintage bead strand and they met like old friends. I paired the two with a deeply etched brass watch face and the three of them were very happy together, although nameless. Any suggestions on a name?
I love that you can wear this long or as a lariat, my personal favorite.

I am looking forward to hearing your suggestions!

A new look and a great giveaway!

Hop on over to say "Hey" to Barbara Lewis of "Painting with Fire", she has a newly designed blog and is putting out the welcome mat for guests!
Barbara says "I love to make quirky, romantic, and fun-loving pieces for the woman who embraces the unexpected and makes a statement with her wearable art." She is offering a fantabulous giveaway of her torch fired beads, ( I really want those....I really, really do....). So run don't walk to check out her new place.

Mask of a Women

Here is my first experience with using mica sheets. I had never heard of using mica in jewelry design until I read a blog post about it (...and my mind not retaining what it use to can not fine that post, sorry) It is a very cool lightweight material and and takes a stamp very well. Using Stazon ink pads I stamped the mica and attached it to a textured piece of sheet brass.
The gorgeous enamel bead dangling below the pendant is from Barbara Lewis and it adds the burst of color this piece needs. You can find this necklace in my ArtFire shop.

You can find mica at Ornamentea.com

The Key to Harmony

"Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination, and life to everything." ~ Plato ~

The sun is shinning today and it has warmed up to 40 degrees...could it be the sun that inspired this necklace or the fellow artisans that created a few elements in this piece. The vintage sheet music beads from Tanith's Odds & Ends were the start for this necklace and the awesome robin's egg blue enamel bead from Barbara Lewis helped finish it off. You can find this in my etsy shop.

the dust of everyday life."
