New Etched Earrings

My little helper...all this work tuckered him out. Morgan is constantly into all my stuff, if my work table wasn't messy enough now it is worse! It takes me three times as long to finish up something, I pray for the little rascal to go to sleep! He is so lucky he is so darn cute!
I worked on some more etching today, I love being able to add another element to my designs. For the butterfly domes I used two different stamps and was happy with the results.

Rambling Week

I can not believe Monday was my last post...where did the week go? We have been having a problem with our computer or at least with our browser Mozilla Fox, it seems it ran away....I am lost without it, nothing looks the same and it seems harder to post....please husband fix it soon!
I have finally after like 6 months of purchasing Muriatic Acid and peroxide gotten to try some metal etching. Oooooh, that stuff scares me! After lots of careful planning I finally did it....and I am loving it! It is a good start and I can't wait to do some more later today. A completed pair of earrings...Yay!

The Nashville Flea Market was this weekend, I was debating on going in this terrible heat but the longing for some new beads made me go. Here is my stash...don't you just love the keys! The Chalcedony was a splurge, the quality of the beads were irresistable.

I hope you all have a wonderful Sunday!

Kitty Kat Friday

It will be a week on Saturday that this little guy joined our family. Captain Morgan is a hoot, plays hard then just falls asleep, I forgot how fun kitties are. Jack the gray tabby in the picture was not so sure about him there was lots of growling and hissing going on, but I think all of Morgans silly antics has finally turned Jack around. It sounds like two elephants running around the house, although there is still the occasional hiss and swat.

How could you not just love that little face!

A wonderful old button, pearls, beads and some copper and here you have Grecian Goddess.

You can find her in my Etsy shop.

Wishes to you all for a great weekend.

Two sides of me

I do not think I could settle on making one "type" of jewelry....My right hand wants to make one thing and my left another, thankfully they compromise and each has its turn to create different pieces.

Here you have "Brand New Day"...fresh, new, and colorful. You can find this piece in my Flap Your Wings Etsy shop.

Now for the other side of me...the side with a "past"...showing its age and patina and usually darker. I love working with old things and mixing them with newer findings.

Kindred Spirits...
An antique classroom picture is forever preserved in resin and is the focal for this unique necklace. Our "kindred spirits" if you will...A handmade lampwork bead is sandwiched between two of my handmade bead caps. A hand stamped copper tag is oxidized to give it an aged look. Colorful czech glass beads are added.

You can find Kindred Spirits in my other Etsy shop Judith B. Designs

Musings

I love working with resin from time to time, the pieces add a cleaner more modern look to my usual creations. I am really pleased with this bracelet, it has great color and is so comfortable to wear! I found these 1/2" X 1/2" bezels at Hobby Lobby and connected them with sterling jump rings. The Hobby Lobby near me is a wonderful store and have great sales every week. I have become friendly with Susan the lady that runs the jewelry department and she has has been able to get things I have asked for. I was thrilled to see a variety of bezels come in and she is always surprising me with new things. Is this a paid advertisement? Oh, Lorda God no, I just am a big fan of HL.

Creature of the Wind

"When the heat of the summer Made drowsy the land, A dragon-fly came And sat on my hand". Eleanor Farjeon Quotes
I stepped out of the box a little here with this piece. I had found some little pieces of white drift wood while on my trip to Nevada and I knew I wanted to create something from it. So smooth and white...I added a freshwater pearl as a perfect compliment. A raw edge piece of silk makes the perfect draping for this pendant.

Our new kitty "Captain Morgan" is finally here! It has been a bit chaotic as we are also dog sitting. Our cats Jack and Sam are not too pleased with the new rambunctious arrival, lots of hissing and growling going on. Morgan is a sweetie and has found how much fun my studio is!

He is so stinking cute!

I fell in love with these matte czech glass beads...so soft and colorful.

The Traveler

I love creating these eclectic charm bracelets...using the new and the old... the found and made.
The green glass elephant was a great find , it adds a really nice pop of color and whimsy to this piece I call "The Traveler". Each piece can tell its own story.
