Welcome to the office...

...my place of employment, my studio.
I thought it was about time I share with you my work space. Yes, I did clean up for company, just pretend it is always like this. So come on in and have a look around.

It started out a sitting room then I slowly added a table in the corner then added and removed a few more items and now it's sole purpose is for the design of jewelry. I love this room, it has great light and is in the front of the house where I can keep an eye on the goings on in the neighborhood (kinda like Mrs.Kravitz).

The sofa needs to go, if you want it, come and get it! I was hoping it would be easy to give away but apparently no one wants a two ton sofa bed, not even for free! If you over look the many cat scratches it has it's a beauty!
I am in need of another table and that is where it will go.
The old butlers tray table is my "photography studio" along with that very expensive plastic bucket on the floor...yes, yes I know, very high tech! This room also has a huge walk in closet, I will save that for another day, it really is too messy and I would be highly embarrassed to share it with you. See, now you have something to look forward too!

I just love little bowls...I hate to have stuff all closed up, I need to see it, I tend to forget what I have.
...all though it tends to get a little cluttered and messy.

Yes, I do have a thing for mirrors, especially old ones. It all started 29 years ago when my mother in-law gave me a heart shaped mirror for valentines day.

Some reading material if you would like to sit and try the sofa out.

A little something I made for myself...jewels to wear to the wedding we are attending on Saturday in Massachusetts.  It seems it is as hot there as it has been in Tennessee, so much for the reprieve I was hoping for. So off we go and I hope to have lots to share when I return, have a great week!

A little piece of heaven...green that is.

Sometimes, well especially lately in this terrible heat....I like to wear a long lightweight necklace. My new favorite chain is the snake chain at 24" in length. So here I have something you just might see me wearing. You can find this green agate drop necklace in my Etsy shop.

The Face of a woman

A woman..she has many colors, here heart is filled with love, she can be luminous and she can be guarded. The simplest thing can bring her to tears and she stands strong to what she believes. She is intuitive and feminine. She dreams...

I am a woman in process. I'm just trying like everybody else. I try to take every conflict, every experiece, and learn from it . Life is never dull"  Oprah Winfrey

SPAM

No not the kind you eat....but the junk email we get everyday!
"E-mail spam, also known as junk e-mail, is a subset of spam that involves nearly identical messages sent to numerous recipients by e-mail. A common synonym for spam is unsolicited bulk e-mail."

Lets see.... this week my Paypal account is under question, I have been left three million six hundred thousand  british pounds by a british heir (so tempting to reply!), I received an order of 50 pieces of my  jewelry to be sent to Czech.and for MOI to pay the postage, but they would reimburse me. Ooohh, the best for last...herbal supplements that would impress my partner!  I delete and I delete, it drives me crazy, especially the ones that prey on small business owners. Some of the spam are easily checked on if they are legit. I send the Paypal ones to Spoof@paypal.com and some of the others you can google the sender and there is usually a rap sheet on everyone else they tried to steal from. What do I have to do to stop receiving these? I am not flattered...although the man from New Zealand who would like to purchase from me sounds soooo nice!

Faith

A garden is evidence of faith. It links us with all the misty figures of the past who also planted and were nourished by the fruits of their planting

Gladys Taber

I started with a basket and ended up needing a bucket to carry all of my pickings back up to the house. Fencing in the garden this year has certainly helped, no sign of critters, although I would not mind sharing at this point, I think all my neighbors are tiring of squash and cucumbers. The grape tomato plants are at least 3 feet taller than myself in less than a weeks time it will be nothing but red polka dots ready for plucking. We are hoping for rain today, it has been terribly dry and hotter than 40 hells...please please rain!

Here is a little kitty update..
Our little Morgan is growing so quickly!

Morgan and Jack are pretty much inseparable. Jack acts like Morgan is his baby, it is so cute!

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

Unfold Your Wings

"My Soul is in the Sky"

I may be wearing out my welcome with all of my etching but I just can't help myself, I am like a kid with a new toy!  I had purchased this great twig piece at Michael's while I was in Nevada, I knew I wanted to do something a little different with it. I am not usually one to mix metal colors together, however I am working on that and trying to get out of my "box". I really like the combinations here and I think each element compliment each other nicely.

The fab ceramic beads are from Summers Studio

You can find this whimsical piece on my website Judith B. Designs.com

We have been looking for a new car for sometime we know what we want but just have not found it at a price we are willing to pay. My DH has a friend who has a small dealership and has offered to take him to the car auction. Today was the auction day, but the DH is back in Nevada (poor guy) so guess who went to the auction?  Me, Me...me! It was just like on TV...way cool! Thousands upon thousands of cars...anything you want! It was so tempting to change my mind but I did not waiver. We are looking  for a Volvo SC90 , they had many of them but after weeding bad colors and other things out there were two that we were going to bid on, unfortunately the bidding went higher than our budget would allow. We will try again in a few weeks at the next auction. I will keep you posted if I get lucky!

The Butterfly is a Flying Flower

I hope everyone had a great holiday weekend. My DH took me out for a lovely dinner on Saturday night, a nice splurge I should say. We went to the Capital Grille in downtown Nashville, located in the Hermitage Hotel. Four years ago when we moved to Tennessee our new home was not ready for us to  move in,  we were fortunate to stay at the luxurious Hermitage Hotel with our cats for just over a week, needless to say I did not want to leave. It surely was a real treat, this being a very stressful time, chocolates on the pillow at night sure helped. So four years later, here we are dinning at this lovely restuarant. Romantic yes...wonderful yes..it was a very nice evening. Thanks honey!

I had my son take this picture before we left as I was wearing a new butterfly necklace that I had just finished making. I loved it so much and it went with my blouse so I decided to wear it. I was very happy with the piece and it was really comfortable to wear.

You can find this piece in my Etsy shop.

Bead Trends July 2010

A nice package was at my front door the other day, I was so excited to open it up and find the latest issue of Bead Trends, this marks my first publication with this magazine, I quickly searched to find a little piece of me on page 66..."Boho Chic".  There are so many wonderful wonderful ideas featured and a really great designer highlight on Marie-Noel Voyer-Cramp of Skye Jewels.
