Naked Lady

Ha! Made you look!
Isn't this amaryllis just beautiful? Did you know it is also know as Belladonna lily or naked lady? So far there has been 8 huge blooms and two more are on there way to open. How does one small stem have so much beauty?

I have been busy working with some of the brass stampings I got at the flea market. Since I am not home and do not have my good camera I am relying on my I-phone. So these pics will have to do.
The brass stampings are loaded with lots of natural patina, a little buffing from some fine steel wool brings out some of the highlights so nicely.

I forgot to share these crosses with you the other day, they are from the same vendor at the flea market. Great detail and I think they are made from some type of pot metal as they have a softness to them.

Here is another piece I am working on, it is rather simple in design. All the glory lies in the connectors. Czech glass beads with simple loops. Still trying to figure out a good clasp. Any suggestions?

The Butterfly is a Flying Flower

I hope everyone had a great holiday weekend. My DH took me out for a lovely dinner on Saturday night, a nice splurge I should say. We went to the Capital Grille in downtown Nashville, located in the Hermitage Hotel. Four years ago when we moved to Tennessee our new home was not ready for us to  move in,  we were fortunate to stay at the luxurious Hermitage Hotel with our cats for just over a week, needless to say I did not want to leave. It surely was a real treat, this being a very stressful time, chocolates on the pillow at night sure helped. So four years later, here we are dinning at this lovely restuarant. Romantic yes...wonderful yes..it was a very nice evening. Thanks honey!

I had my son take this picture before we left as I was wearing a new butterfly necklace that I had just finished making. I loved it so much and it went with my blouse so I decided to wear it. I was very happy with the piece and it was really comfortable to wear.

You can find this piece in my Etsy shop.

Flower Power

Today got the best of me....I had to turn my AC on! As a native New England-er I am still not use to having to turn the AC on in April, of course the weather could all change tomorrow., but no matter how cold it gets that heat is NOT going back on!

So with the warm spring day in mind this is what my hands had to create today. I wanted something current with a vintage flair. Lots of chunky glass and pearls with some rhinestone bling.

You can find Spring Bling in my Etsy shop.

Simple Necklace

I love playing with my new tools. A simple necklace created with the disk cutter and dappling set. I have so much to figure out...but it is a start, hey I've got all winter! You can find this in my Artfire shop.

Calling all bloggers, facebook fans and twitter folks, here is my first giveaway of the year and what would be better to receive than an Artbeads gift certificate....

A random name will be drawn on Monday Jan.11th for the Artbeads $25 gift certificate and another name will be drawn to win a goodie bag of beads from me. Good luck everyone!

Tinker's Whimsy

I have been in a wire wrapping frenzy...I just can't stop! I've been making lots of earrings and getting ready for some fall shows. It has been many years since I have done a Craft Fair. Years ago, too many to count... back in the day...you get the idea; I use to do around 25 shows a year...yes, you read that correctly! I had started a wholesale business and only did a few a year and then I just stopped doing shows. Now I am itching to do shows again so I am starting to prepare some inventory and this week it includes lots of wire wrapped earrings.

Here is a little whimsical pair I made.
I think Tinkerbell would like these...I can see these earrings swaying as she flutters from toadstool to toadstool...so with her little whimsical self in mind I have named these "Tinkers Whimsy".
