What do you make on a snowy day?

Perhaps you make a nice cup of hot chocolate or a cup of hot tea with lemon to go with that yummy German Chocolate cake your girlfriend brought over to you...( I have the BEST friends!), yes that is what you do indeed.

With the gray skies and flakes of snow falling I also made this assemblage bracelet I am calling Rhinestone Ice, the name is fitting for a day like this.

Rhinestone Ice was created with a Victorian steel cut buckle and some filigree pieces that I applied some wonderful Indigo patina to. A vintage rhinestone brooch tops this assemblage. I was lucky to find some awesome vintage chain in a silver-tone that worked great in finishing this piece off.

If it is snowing where you are today, I hope you are all snuggled in doing what you love. There is something said about a snowfall, it can be so peaceful and beautiful.

Feathered Wings

"I will write peace on your wings and you will fly all over the world"

I am getting ready for an Art show next weekend, so I am making some new pieces. I think I am in my vintage/antique mood, all I want to work with are old elements. Here is a new favorite piece of mine I have named "Feathered Wings". I like the touch of whimsy... the addition of the bird and wings, and an antique key is always cool on anything.

"The reason birds can fly and we can't is simply that they have perfect faith, for to have faith is to have wings. "

Flower Power

Today got the best of me....I had to turn my AC on! As a native New England-er I am still not use to having to turn the AC on in April, of course the weather could all change tomorrow., but no matter how cold it gets that heat is NOT going back on!

So with the warm spring day in mind this is what my hands had to create today. I wanted something current with a vintage flair. Lots of chunky glass and pearls with some rhinestone bling.

You can find Spring Bling in my Etsy shop.

Elegant Nouveau

I had purchased some bead caps from AD Adornments at a bead show about a month ago and I have been saving them for something really special. I finally found the right time to use one of them. The bead cap was the perfect fit for this antique rhinestone bead I found at an antique shop. I decided to turn up the petals for a little touch of whimsy. You can find this piece in my Artfire shop.

I just wanted to give Lori Anderson of "Pretty Things" a big shout out of gratitude for hosting the Bead Soup Party. I am still hoping around viewing all of the creative works and it has been fun meeting new people. Thanks again Lori for all of your efforts.

Rich and Glam

A collection of vintage rhinestone jewels are rejuvenated in this one of a kind long necklace that I call Great Gatsby...my modern version of the rich and glam from 1925. An assortment of pearls are all wire wrapped in oxidized brass and hammered brass connectors are used to link these together. An antique gold filled heart locket dangles from the rhinestone pendant. This couture heirloom piece of jewelry would look lovely with that little black dress or a white shirt and jeans.Measures 31" in length.
