Creature of the Wind

"When the heat of the summer Made drowsy the land, A dragon-fly came And sat on my hand". Eleanor Farjeon Quotes
I stepped out of the box a little here with this piece. I had found some little pieces of white drift wood while on my trip to Nevada and I knew I wanted to create something from it. So smooth and white...I added a freshwater pearl as a perfect compliment. A raw edge piece of silk makes the perfect draping for this pendant.

Our new kitty "Captain Morgan" is finally here! It has been a bit chaotic as we are also dog sitting. Our cats Jack and Sam are not too pleased with the new rambunctious arrival, lots of hissing and growling going on. Morgan is a sweetie and has found how much fun my studio is!

He is so stinking cute!

I fell in love with these matte czech glass beads...so soft and colorful.

Violet Waves

As part of Artbeads.com blogging program I get to try out many of their new products and this "Lillypilly" shell pendant is one of them. I was drawn to this piece for its color and modern design. I paired it with an amethyst bead and a hill tribe spacer bead... a modern but feminine pendant. Oxidized sterling joins the two and hangs from a sterling ball chain.

You can find "Violet Waves" in my Etsy shop.

Another favorite of mine are the czech glass beads that Artbeads carries. They seem to be always adding something new, and some are in limited supply...so get them while you can! I used Picasso square beads for this bracelet
Chunky czech glass beads in a lilac color are wire wrapped in copper. A yellow turquoise bead adds contrast and is all dressed up in handmade bead caps. A polymer clay bead unites the two colors. I hand forged a hook and eye and heat treated it for some interest. Two metal beads finish off this one of a kind bracelet.

Lilac Breeze can be found in my Etsy shop.
Disclosure: All above mentioned beads from Artbead.com were kindly provided free-of-charge by Artbeads.com, within the frames of Artbeads.com blogging program. Gotta love the Moo!

Moo Cards that is...
I feel in love with Moo printing a while back and had ordered business cards, postcards and the mini moo's. Just recently I had some photo's printed to use for show jurying but they were just lacking something...so I decided to order some Moo postcards. That did the trick for me, they are so professional looking and the quality is excellent, certainly a great investment at around a $1 each.
They include a preview postcard of all the cards in your order....very cool.

"Simplicity is the ultimate Sophistication
"

I am getting ready for a show in less than 2 weeks and wanted to make some simpler items. Here we have "Simplicity" made from one of BeingBeads lampwork beads and a copper filigree pendant from LeAnn of Summers Studio's. I love the combination of textures and soft color. The mesh copper chains are wonderful and you can find them at Rings & Things.
