We Still Have Paris

...sigh....Paris is on my bucket list. One day I long to stand in front of the Eiffel Tower and gaze at its majestic beauty. The Eiffel tower is iconic these days and is featured in many accessory designs. I found this great antique Eiffel tower watch fob at an antique shop and included it in my "We still have Paris" typewriter key necklace.

The nice folks at Bead Trends were kind enough to include my necklace in their November issue. You can find it on page 114, or you can see it here in their nice little video.
If you do not have the November issue of Bead Trends you have the chance to win it here. Just leave me a comment and tell me one thing that is on your bucket list and I will draw one lucky winner on Wednesday November 23rd.

Shift Lock

One more key necklace....I know... I suppose I am a little obsessed with the keys, but sometimes the addition of a key just makes the piece. As many of you know I love to etch, it is a love hate thing, the loving part taking precedent. Any whoooo...this piece also had some Verdigris patina applied and it just made the etch pop. It really is a fun process! Miss Ficklemedia offers a great tutorial on applying patinas, check it out!

Shift Lock is an assemblage of vintage rosary beads, antique brass chain links, vintage typewriter key and an antique key.

It has been a rough week, besides working like a crazy lady getting ready for my best show of the season lots of other things have come up. My dear mother-in-law was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, we were shocked to learn this sad news. She lives in Connecticut so the distance will make it more difficult for us, but a 2 hour plane ride is easy to do. I too got some bad news, a diagnosis of Malignant Melanoma. I had something removed from my leg and the outcome was not as we hoped. Needless to say I have had lots rolling around in my head. I will be having additional surgery very soon on my leg to get clear margins on where the cancer is. I think that is all one person can handle for the week...I am looking forward to the show, it will surely keep my mind occupied. The weekend is upon us, I hope you all have a great one!

Inspiration

Let the sincerity of these simple inspirational messages speak to your soul. Enjoy some of my favorites.

Come to the edge.
We might fall.
Come to the edge.
It's too high!
Come to the edge!
And they came,
and he pushed,
and they flew.

Even if I don't reach all my goals, I've gone higher than I would have if I hadn't set any.

You gain strength, courage, and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face. You must do the thing which you think you cannot do.
-- Eleanor Roosevelt

You were born an original. Don't die a copy.
-- John Mason

On another note I wanted to tell you I sold my "Hope" for Haiti necklace this morning, I am so excited! Many thanks to the buyer and I hope the necklace will inspire you as well. I happily popped up the Red Cross address and made my donation. I hope to make another "Hope" for Haiti piece in a few days.

PEACE

Wouldn't it be nice if it were that easy....a bracelet that says it all?

Readable Art Typewriter Key Jewelry

Found treasures are given a new life.
Anytime I can create something from an item that is of no use anymore or is destined to be thrown out is a good thing...I am all for it! I love typewriters...for their form and creative fonts, to me they are piece of art.

Authentic typewriter keys recycled from antique and vintage typewriters are used to create this wonderful one of a kind bracelet, consisting of random letters, numbers and expressions. Keys are mounted in a sterling setting and connected with a series of strong jump rings. A large lobster clasp is used as a closure. A colorful polymer clay bead and hand stamped sterling tag is added. Bracelet measures: 7 1/2". You can find this bracelet in my ArtFire shop. Custom orders accepted. While my bracelets are sturdy, they are not waterproof and should not be worn swimming or doing the dishes, but please wear them everywhere else!

"What's Your Type?" Sterling typewriter key pendant with your choice of letter, number or expression with sterling typewriter charm.

Typewriter key pendants with an industrial look.

Have a great weekend!

What's Your Type?

I have an addiction to old typewriters! I just love the look of them and the varying fonts that they have. I have 3 of these old Coronas Circa 1913....I just can't help myself, I see them I buy them. I have friends picking me up typewriters and have recently told them to stop. I have a garage filled with them. Most of them are to be taken apart for jewelry but the good ones I keep....until I need it or the love affair has ended with it. Anyway...what's your type what do you covet? What do you just have to have??

Be sure to enter my blog giveaway to celebrate my newly designed blog! Drawing will take place on Saturday.
