One Love

...lets get together and be alright

You must know this is highly unusual for me to have a valentine piece of jewelry made well ahead of this fun holiday, it usually occurs to me a few days ahead of the actual day.
I had purchase a few pieces from Menagerie Studio and this heart was my inspiration, Martha's pieces are so unique and really make a statement where ever you use them. I love her layering of color and texture. The copper charm bracelet is from Auntie's Beads. I oxidized the bracelet and then buffed it to bring back some of the copper color. A great solid copper sturdy bracelet, this would take patina's so well! I see another project .....!

I have received these beads free of charge from Auntie's Beads in order to write a review and/or create a project free of charge for you. I have not been paid for my endorsement as it pertains to the products received.

The Traveler

I love creating these eclectic charm bracelets...using the new and the old... the found and made.
The green glass elephant was a great find , it adds a really nice pop of color and whimsy to this piece I call "The Traveler". Each piece can tell its own story.

Travel and change of place impart new vigor to the mind. ~ Seneca

An eclectic mix of new and old charms and trinkets. One of a kind pieces are all joined together to form this "Treasures" bracelet. Vintage brass stampings, antique mother of pearl button and an antique key. Resin charms made from vintage dictionary pages and an old Arizona tax coin.

You can find "Treasures" in my Etsy shop.

Stormy Skies

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I am back to my routine....my sister left yesterday after 12 days. I am so tired, I don't know why, maybe it is from talking and laughing all the time... whatever it may be I am taking today and working in my studio. That is my relaxation, my quiet place and no one bothers me. I have a show in a few weeks and need to get going on some new pieces, so today I felt rather productive and will share with you a few of the pieces I made.
Stormy Skies , has a pendant created from an old mother of pearl shoe clip. I love the shimmer and vintage look it adds to the piece. Black mother of pearl and black matte beads are wire wrapped in sterling and oxidized, and then buffed just enough to bring out a little shine.
Making a charm bracelet is a great way to use all those little things we seem to collect, and we all do, we just can't seem to part with some things. A vintage link chain is the base for this whimsical collection of doo dads. A handmade lampwork bead adds a little color. You can find this in my Etsy shop.
Resin a new addiction!
I need a new addiction like I need a hole in the head, like I don't already have so many things that I just love to do. Will my house ever be clean again? Lordy, Lordy!
I had purchased a resin kit from Rings and Things about 8 months ago, in hopes to give this new craze a try. Yesterday I finally set aside the time to work on this. The kit I purchased is called Easy Cast Epoxy and is so easy to use with little to no odor. I am an instant gratification person (I could never make a quilt!) and had to wait patiently for this to cure, roughly 24 hours, however I could gaze at my creations all day long. The illustrations I used in my pendants and charms are antique dictionary drawings, antique maps, sheet music, colorful illustrations and I used an old watch face too. There is a great tutorial on u-tube by John Golden that walks you through the process nicely. You may just want to give this a try!
You can find this rabbit resting in my Artfire shop.
