Whatchamacallit

I am not sure what to call this piece... I need a little help. I do usually like to name my pieces, I can relate to them much better than just a descriptive name. I am at a loss for this poor nameless piece.

I had this enamel bead  from Barbara Lewis sitting in one of my many pottery bowls for awhile, it was just patiently waiting its turn to be used...and then I came across this multi colored vintage bead strand and they met like old friends. I paired the two with a deeply etched brass watch face and the three of them were very happy together, although nameless. Any suggestions on a name?
I love that you can wear this long or as a lariat, my personal favorite.

I am looking forward to hearing your suggestions!

  1. As usual, I love it. The enamel is the color of lapis which the Egyptians often paired with gold, as you did. Something Egyptian or royal, maybe? Royal Blue or Cleopatra's Gold? I'm lousy at naming my stuff. I usually just say "Blue Enamel with Gold Pendant". Hah!

  2. Judy, I am completely hopeless with naming things (see my shop for example, 'owl bead with blue tummy') But that is a lovely combination of materials. I like your little bead cap tucked under the enamel bead.

  3. Why not "Old Friends are Best"... or ... "The Serendipity of Coincidence" I like naming things. It creates a whole story in the naming that I totally gravitate toward. Oh, how about "Gravitational Pull"? Those things were meant to be together.

    Enjoy the day!

  4. This so beautiful. My first thought for a name was 'Make Time For Love' as we all seem too busy these days. Whatever you end up naming it I'm sure it will find a lovely place to live.

  5. Positively lovely. Blue is my favorite color. First glance I thought of a blue planet but no name came to mind so I really like TesoriTrovati's name of "Gravitational Pull". It just works! Happy creating...

  6. since it is a watch face with a beautiful blue bead, how about "no time to be blue"

  7. 'timeless' - referring to both the watch face and the lapis color which mary so aptly points was used by the egyptians... so then also a reference back in history to something still found to be beautiful...
i don't know - but i do know that i get all hung up if i cannot name something too... and i was thinking of you because i need to make ear wires -

  9. Love the piece! It reminds me of a festival in some far away place. My suggestion for a name would be Time Traveler.

I agree that naming a piece makes it more personable, and the customers seem to enjoy it too!
