Relaxing and Reflection

“A new year is unfolding – like a blossom with petals curled tightly concealing the beauty within.”

We are finally back home after a 10 day trip to Connecticut to visit family and  friends.  I am exhausted and so very happy to be able to sleep in my bed tonight. Thumbs up to Southwest Airlines for making our flights so easy and hassle free. No festivities for us tonight....relaxing, reflection and perhaps a nice martinis is in order. My best wishes to you all for a wonderful New Year filled with many blessings.

Christmas Blesssing

 A Christmas Blessing

During this Christmas season,
May you be blessed
With the spirit of the season,
which is peace,
The gladness of the season,
which is hope,
And the heart of the season,
which is love

Somehow, not only for Christmas
But all the long year through,
The joy that you give to others
Is the joy that comes back to you.
And the more you spend in blessing
The poor and lonely and sad,
The more of your heart's possessing
Returns to you glad.

John Greenleaf Whittier

...this is my wish for you! I hope you all have a blessed holiday with those you love.
I shall return next year!
Thank you to all of my dear friends who enrich my life each day, stay well.

Happy Thanks for giving

Not what we say about our blessings, but how we use them, is the true measure of our thanksgiving.
W. T. Purkiser

For today and it's blessings, I owe the world an attitude of gratitude.

When my son was little he would say "Happy thanks for giving"  not a thanksgiving has gone by that I don't repeat those same words. My wishes to you are that you have a blessed holiday, are able to  have a wonderful meal and have someone to enjoy it with. Blessings to you all!

Show stock and packed bags

I have been working like a crazy fool trying to get as much done before I leave for a trip to Connecticut and Massachusetts for 10 days. I do not know what I was thinking when I extended my trip from 5 days to 10 days, especially at this time of year, since I am in show mode. I know when I see my sister at the airport all the anxiety about work will  leave, and knowing I will enjoy some yummy lobster while I am visiting helps too! My hubby will be joining me later in the week so we can attend the wedding of a good friend.

Here are a few things I have been working on.

I love this great hand component from Micheal's. Paired with chunky Opalite, peace resin pendant, etched copper tag "Inspire" and sterling wire wrapped copper bead.

"Blessed"
When I look at this piece I think of all the blessings in my life and realize how blessed I am and how lucky I am to have the most fantabulous husband and son. To live my life freely and joyfully without restraints, something that is taken for granted by so many. I am truly blessed with family and friends, health and purring kitties and the ability to create what I want when I want.

I bet you can't guess what the platform for this pendant is? I repurposed something and it is vintage.

"Starling"
My attempt at something a bit "goth"..
Resin pendant created from vintage dictionary illustration, Czech glass beads and brass and black chain.

I hope you all have a blessed week!

The Blessing of Good Friends

We had a wonderful Christmas celebrating with our son Nick and very good friends. We are so lucky to have such wonderful friends who we feel are like our family. Since we live far away from our families you tend to rely more on your friends and we know how blessed we are to have such wonderful caring friends around us.

Friends are relatives you make for yourself. ~Eustache Deschamps

If you're alone, I'll be your shadow. If you want to cry, I'll be your shoulder. If you want a hug, I'll be your pillow. If you need to be happy, I'll be your smile. But anytime you need a friend, I'll just be me. ~Author Unknown

But friendship is precious, not only in the shade, but in the sunshine of life, and thanks to a benevolent arrangement the greater part of life is sunshine. ~Thomas Jefferson

I hope each and everyone of you has a wonderful friend on who you can rely on and loves you for who you are. What a good time to tell them how you feel.
Have a great day!

Words for Wednesday

Certain things catch your eye,
But pursue only those
that capture your heart.

Old Indian saying

"Give thanks for unknown blessings
already on their way."
