The theme this month for Artbeads.com blogging program is "Colors of Fall". I created this piece I call "Autumn's Mosaics"  . A mosaic of Czech glass, lapis and fire polished beads dangle above a hand cut, shaped and patina-ed copper leaf, a leaf stamped copper cap keeps the beads all clustered. This one of a kind pendant is strung on a hand dyed silk ribbon. .

Artbeads.com has added a new line called Kabela Design, brass components that are inspired by vintage style with a modern twist. For this piece I used  one of the brass filigrees components to frame the etched pendant.I also practiced my fusing and created a copper link chain.

and lastly...."Time to Fly"  using another filigree component that I used as a focal with an applied antique enamel watch face. This multi-layer long necklace was created with antique white glass beads, brass filigree and faceted silver glass beads.

Bohemian Swirl

Here is another post regarding the products I picked out this month from Artbeads.com. Artbeads focus is on Summer themes , I took it literally and gravitated towards the shell items. In my last post I shared a necklace I made with a Lillypilly etched shell pendant, so today here is another shell pendant in a Bohemian style. I paired the pendant with some Tibetian beads, lampwork, wood and citrine beads. I had fun using my torch to create a bead at one end of the copper, the heat allowed me to work the copper and shape it. A little wax on the pendant made the design pop out more. A copper lotus charm dangles in the back for a little surprise.

Nautilus shell coin beads were the inspiration for this beach theme bracelet. The shell coins are a nice size at 18.5mm x 19mm and come in a 7 inch strand, the wasabi color is one of my favorites to work with. I paired the coins with rainbow agate in an ocean blue color and a fabulous lampwork bead to tie it all together. I used brass to make the bead caps and clasp..the color was a perfect reminder of the sand.

Spring Blessings

"The beauty of spring" was Artbeads theme for February and March. As part of their blogging program I was asked to design a piece of jewelry with my interpretation of Spring. I was able to choose from any of the products on their website. This was not easy for me as they have such a vast array of wonderful products. I finally settled on a variety of pressed Czech glass beads in an array of luscious colors, of all glass beads Czech glass are my absolute favorites.

Spring Blessings Long Necklace

This long lariat style necklace is a collection of colorful wire wrapped czech glass beads. These beads are so rich in color and most are faceted so they catch the light nicely. Copper chain and copper spacers are also used to accent these stunning beads. The lariat style makes this piece versatile.I added one of my handmade bird resin pieces as a dangle. Necklace measures 32" with additional 7" from brass ring to the end of the cross.

Spring Fling Earrings

Some folks like to have matching earrings so I made these dangles to go with the necklace. Bright yellow turquoise beads are accented with Czech glass roundelles. Such a great combination and so alive with color. These can be found in my Etsy shop.

Take me dancing earrings...

I am still working with beads and findings that I received from ArtBeads.com as part of their blogging program. Here we have a pair of "Take me dancing" earrings... Created using Artbeads Swarovski crystal pearls in the Bordeaux color and crystal roundelles . I love using these roundelles, they give a wonderful sparkle and a vintage look to any piece. To attach the beads to the ear wire I used another versatile component and that is a silverplated channel link in jet. I really like the way it makes the earring dangle while adding a little more sparkle. Modern sterling ear wires make these earrings very chic.
