Owl in the Night

"The Bat that flits at close of Eve
Has left the Brain that won't believe.
The Owl that calls upon the night
speaks the unbeliever's fright."
William Blake

This owl button finds an unconventional life in this necklace. I purchased several domed buttons from a dealer in Texas and knew they would make great pendants. The dome gives off a spooky effect and pairs just perfectly with old black rosary beads.

Feelin a little Vintage

After spending the last two days at the antique shop I am feeling a little "vintage". Here are two pieces I just finished creating. A vintage cameo brooch and antique jet glass beads make this very comfortable bracelet. The funky clasp was inspired by Christine Brandel on pg.87 of the the September issue of Bead Trends. Christine then gave credit to the very talented Cindy Wimmer for this great hook design. I loved this design and thought it would give a funky look to this piece.

Music is Love

~Music is love in search of a word.~ ~Sidney Lanier

I found this very cool piece of pressed glass at an estate sale, I have never seen anything like this before. I do think it is old and I knew it would be a great focal for a necklace. I combined it with pieces of a vintage necklace and some handmade sheet music beads along with some labradorite beads and a cool connector from A.D Adornments.

Do you have a dark side?

I know this cold gloomy weather has possessed me to create this Victorian Gothic Rosary Necklace. The antique black rosary lends its somber and goth side to this piece, although it is still rather delicate and pretty at the same time.

Do you have a dark side? What just makes you turn into something you'd rather not be?
