The cost of beauty

Beauty at what cost? Since I have a venue to ask this question to many people at once I thought I would and get your thoughts on this subject.

As ladies we all want to look our best and going to the hairdresser is something we do at least every 5-6 weeks. We get our haircut maybe get a color or highlights. Our hairdresser is our friend...we look to her to help us look our best, but at what cost? The cost of a haircut varies and the costs are higher if you live in or near a big city. What do you pay for your chic cut?...And most important what do you tip? Most hairdressers where I live pay their own rent and you pay them directly for their work. How much do you tip them? Are they their own "boss" and you don't or do you anyway? Looking forward to what you have to say.

  1. I give between 25% to 50% tips, depending on how much I am having done, Judy. One beautician only highlights my small region of hair receives 25%, the other beautician at the other shop I always give 50% because she can get me in & our in 25 to 28 minutes & does a fantastic cut & style vs. one hour for the first beautician ...

Have a beautiful week. TTFN ~ Marydon

  2. I have a great guy hairdresser who does it all, cut, color, highlights. I always give him 25% or a bit extra depending on the little extras he might do. He charges $80.00 for cut and color, which is extremely reasonable in Las Vegas. He's a gem!

  3. I usually tip 20%. I thought that was decent until I read "blushing rose's" comment. Now I think I might be cheap!

  4. Ah Judy, I'm not in this club! I had a foot of hair cut off this year, so I am not a regular in the salon. When I do go, I have tipped 20 -25%.
