Pay the rent

Wow, where have the days gone? Last week I was getting ready for a show and this week I am doing the same. I had a great show this past Saturday, surprising me by doubling my sales from last year! Yeah, can you believe it, and I thought last years sales were good for a one day show...who knew! I know I have said it before and I shall say it again....Newsletter! I send out a newsletter via Mail Chimp and it sure works because my local customers know where they can find me. It is well worth the effort!
Do you have an item that "pays the rent"? What I mean by that is a good inexpensive item that covers your booth fee. My "pay the rent" items are my typewriter key pendants on a stainless ball chain, these are reliable sellers and at a good price point of  $20 at shows.

I always tend to sell more necklaces than anything else, especially religious  How about  you? What are your strongest sellers?

  1. Your display is lovely!!!

I don't have an item that 'pays the rent'. I wish I did. I seem to sell more necklaces than anything. Maybe its because I tend to make more necklaces that bracelets or earrings (though earrings is a close second).

So glad you had a good show. My last one was a bummer. After driving the 1.5 hour trip, paying the fuel and supper, plus the hubby that took time out of his weekend, I sold only two items. The venue used to be great for me, but the economy has hit hard here.

  3. So glad to hear your show last weekend went so well! I'd say my Pay the Rent item are my Cowgirl Cuffs. A good price point and they sell well....
More of the same success at your show this coming weekend!

  4. Congrats on a great show! When I was doing shows my pay the rent item was pendants that you could choose a chain or cord to hang it from. Like yours, it was the $20ish price range. Right there and then you got a piece of jewelry that you had a little part in putting together.

  6. Love your booth. I have made quite a bit of money selling inexpensive earrings. They are easy to buy as an impulse and make great stocking stuffers, gifts for teens to exchange, or teacher gifts. Be sure to post just such suggestions in your booth.
