Sunshine and Relaxation

Home again, home again....we just returned from a very relaxing trip to Orlando Florida. Yes, relaxing even in Orlando. My hubby travels a lot and when he goes somewhere good I try to join him. We spent two days at the parks....one day at Universal and the other at Animal Kingdom. My 'bad" leg does not let me do the running around I used to do, so 2 park days was just enough.... plus it was soooooo stinking hot. We had a great time and enjoyed the pool at the resort...me lathered up in my 50 SPF in the shade with a good book and something a little fruity, it was wonderful!

Since I forgot my camera I used my trusty well loved I-phone. Y'all know how much I love the Instagram photo app and used it on all of my pictures.

I just love this picture....even without seeing Nick's face I know there is a big smile!

what did you say? you want me to do something?
can't you see I am...

ahhhhh....it was just what I needed.

I am

Here I am...but not where I usually am.
I am in Connecticut once again with my family. Dealing with the diffuculties that an incurable illness brings and knowing that you will soon lose a parent. A very sad  part of life. We are glad for the warmer temperatures and the sunshine, the weather has a way of making the day easier to greet.

It has been so nice connecting with old friends and family and remembering "the good ole' days". A common phrase by everyone.."Wow,has it been that long..". Time has a way of getting by us when we are not looking, and I always thought I took the time and payed attention...I suppose not well enough.

I hope everyone had a nice weekend and that your weather is warming up and spring is sprouting in your neck of the woods.

Tennessee has welcomed me home with some severe weather today...that is not very nice! Although, it is nice to be home. After we landed yesterday we stopped to visit our son Nick at school, I actually think he was very happy to see us, then home to 3 happy kitties and my nice comfy bed.

It was a wonderful visit, typical fall weather with gorgeous glowing foliage. Got to see most everyone I had planned on visiting with and we attended the wedding of our good friend Scott and his new bride Valoree. It was a great day spent with good friends.

I also spent a few days with my sister Susan and her family and Wilson their silly dog. We did some antique shopping and I filled  my extra suitcase to the brim, it weighed 50.8 lbs...just over the allowed 50lbs, Southwest let the .8 overage go, how nice of them.

Home Sweet Home

It feels so good to be home! Although I have been home for 4 days I am looking forward to Monday to get back into some sort of routine. We had a great trip in Connecticut visiting with family and friends and attending the wedding of our good friends son Matt.

When you live away from all of you family it is always tricky trying to fit everyone in and to try to see all of your old friends as well. It was nice that the heat wave of New England mellowed a bit for our visit and gave us a respite from the heat of Tennessee as well.

my brother Tim and my niece Lisa

During our visit I celebrated my birthday....the "BIG" one, if you know what I mean. I am not saying it so you are on your own for that. My girlfriend Eileen hosted a birthday celebration for me with some of our good friends. It was so great to see everyone, I realize how much I miss them all. I did some antiquing with the girls and had a full suitcase of treasures to bring home. There is nothing like old stuff from New England...I am in my glory in an old shop full of junk!

I also got to visit with my best friend Donna from high school. We had not seen each other for 8 years and it felt like I had just seen her yesterday. That is a true friendship.

We stayed with my sister Susan the last 3 days of our trip. We enjoyed a wonderful dinner at the beach and I finally got to have the lobster I was dying for....it was so good!

 Our boys...
My son Nick on the (L) and his cousins Nate and Chad

...and we can not forget her other "son" Wilson. It is like have another person with you.

Back to whatever normal is tomorrow...
thanks for stopping by.

Australian Chrysoprase

There is so much to do....so little time! Getting ready for my Trunk Show & Sale on Friday, yikes! I am trying to get some new things made and this bracelet is one of them. I am very pleased with the simpleness of this design, the stones say it all. You can find this on my website

I am sure everyone is getting ready for their Thanksgiving feast, cooking, cleaning and some will be traveling. We won't be visiting family this holiday as we were back to Massachusetts and Connecticut this past spring, instead we will be walking across the lawn to our good friends house, what a treat it will be for me not having to cook. I know it will be a lovely day spent with good friends.

Resting from Vacation

We are back from our trip back to New England and now I need a vacation from my vacation, I am pooped!! It was a wonderful trip in every way....got to visit with family at my niece's wedding and see lots of friends. It was about 18 hours each way, but a nice drive along the Blue Ridge mountains. I got to shop for antiques and brought home lots of wonderful treasures to sell in my antique booths. We were like gypsy's, staying for a few days here and there....it is the only way to see everyone. I am however very glad to be home to sleep in my own bed.

I will share with you a few pictures of my beautiful niece the glowing bride (wearing Judith B. Designs jewelry...just a little plug)
