Yes, you can call me a coach potato and I will not be offended. That is where I have been parked for the last few days, that too is wearing me out, I bore easily and there is nothing good to watch on TV. Since I am writing this you can tell I made it through my surgery safe and sound. My big old thyroid was removed and now I have a big ole scar....much bigger than I expected. I really need to get some scarves because I fear I will scare people when I go out. It feels very weird I must say having this 5 inch incision across my neck.Even more interesting is that the incision is sutured underneath and then glued. Yes, I said glued! Apparently this will make a nicer line versus having sutures on top.
My first overnight experience in the hospital was much better than I anticipated. I was at Centennial Medical Center in Nashville where I received the very best of care. I truly felt like I was their only patient, the nursing staff was just excellent. You read all about the nursing shortages and lack of patient care in hospitals across the country, it was not evident here at Centennial.
I am glad this is all behind me and it is over. Thanks for all off your nice comments and support.
Glad you came through it well and are on the mend. That's a large incision!
ReplyDeleteSo glad everything went well, you deserve to be a couch potato!! Take care!
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear you're doing well!
ReplyDeleteSandra, I've been checking in to see how you were doing. Glad you're back in the comfort of your hope resting. I'm sorry to hear about the big scar, but hopefully it will fade. Take it easy!

So glad to hear that you are on the mend! I don't blame you for getting bored being a couch potatoe. Somehow, you don't strike me as one ;-)
ReplyDeleteHi, just wanted to stop by to say how much I've enjoyed your posts. Thank you !
ReplyDeleteGlad you are doing well and on the mend! I'm sure once healed your incision will be barely noticeable:)
ReplyDeleteI've heard that for every hour of anaesthesia, it takes one month to feel yourself again. (having had numerous surgeries myself, I can attest to this).
ReplyDeleteRest, your body is telling you to rest. I'm sure you'll feel better soon!
